About Diane Ferland?

Diane Ferland was born in 1955 in Canada in a hilly region of Quebec.

Member of a large family, she grew up in the countryside and immersed herself in nature and it’s harmony.

She taught in high-school for 12 years, after which she responded to her desire for creation and studied for 3 years to obtain her ‘Diplôme d’Études Collégiales en Techniques du Verre’.

Ms Ferland taught fusion at the ‘Centre des métiers du verre’. She uses numerous techniques to create her pieces which can now be found throughout North-America as well as in parts of Europe.

Co-founder : Sylvie Bélanger

Diane Ferland is also co-founder of Cassandre Glass Studio, in collaboration with the glassworking artist Sylvie Bélanger.

Founded in 1995, this studio is the first in Quebec to specialize in the art of sandcast glass and offers unique artworks, decorative objects, objects of architectural integration as well as corporate gifts.

Regrettably, Sylvie died of cancer in 2013.
